MDA Medics

Magen David Adom is an organisation aimed at saving lives. We believe in providing a service to all people from all backgrounds. MDA has been in South Africa for over 50 years. It has functioned primarily as a fundraising organisation for Magen David Adom in Israel, and MDA still does function in this capacity.

This year we launch our South African Medical Branch aimed at serving the South African public at large. Membership is open to all people interested in getting involved regardless of race or religion.

MDA MEDICS SA  will be running various projects during the course of the year for underprivileged communities. Our aim is to set up a mobile clinic and medical tent which we will use for disasters occurring within our borders eg during floods, disease outbreaks, civil unrest etc. We will also be offering people the opportunity to travel overseas and assist Magen David Adom Israel in their efforts both in Israel and abroad.

Nathaniel Cohen a doctor at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, is the head of MDA Medics SA. Adam Hirschmann a final year medical student with 7 years experience in the Emergency Medical Services is the Operational Director.
